Before Ji Ruoqian finished lashing out at them harshly, with a sudden crash, all the crockery and cutlery on the table came crashing to the ground and breaking into pieces.

Everyone… including the kitchen full of busy servants, instantly shivered.

All their faces blanched in terror.

Ji Anning stared wide-eyed in disbelief at the man sitting across her.

With his slender beautiful fingers still holding onto the corner of the tablecloth, the man appeared frightfully cold. A fierce and terrifying light flashed within his dark eyes, making their legs go soft with fear.

Ji Ruoqian got so petrified that she lost all color in her face. Her mouth hung open as she shrunk her neck, looking at Ji Chicheng while her body shuddered.

Ji Xiangting hurriedly rose to reach over and pull Ji Ruoqian to her side. Looking at Ji Chicheng with her legs trembling and in a quivering voice, “Lil… Little Uncle…”

Razor-sharp malice glinted from Ji Chicheng’s dark eyes as he released the tablecloth. Gazing at Ji Ruoqian, he reprimanded her, “Our guests are still around. Where has your upbringing gone?”

“What’s going on?”

From the study upstairs, Ji Zhengdao, as well as Yang Yufang and Lin Yanqin, heard the commotion and came running down.

The old man reached the dining room entrance just in time to hear Ji Chicheng chiding Ji Ruoqian. Swiftly casting an eye at Ji Anning, he caught sight of her shrinking her neck and lowering her head meekly.

In a split second, he had an inkling as he wintrily entered the dining room and walked in front of Ji Ruoqian.

His piercingly cold presence was so intimidating that Ji Ruoqian kept her head lowered, not daring to look at the old man’s face as her body shook hard.

With a cold stare, Old Master gave her a once-over and a cold humph, “Since Anning and Jingfeng are already engaged, she’s your sister-in-law. If I hear you calling her name in full again, I’ll not let you off the hook as easily. You won’t be getting any allowance for three months.”

It came off stern and unquestionable.

He gave Ji Ruoqian no opportunity to defend herself. The old man then turned to look at Ji Chicheng, and his expression became calmer. As his lips parted about to say something, Ji Chicheng interrupted, “I’m staying at the condo tonight.”

With that, he made his way out, brushing past Li Yanqin and Yang Yufang.

His cold demeanor sent chills down both their spines.

Watching from behind as his son left, Ji Zhengdao was livid.

Of course, he was not mad at Ji Chicheng but with the power struggle within this family.

He had a keen understanding of Ji Chicheng’s indifferent personality and that he could not withstand such an atmosphere and environment.

In reality, there was always open discord between his eldest and second sons’ families all these years. Since the feuds were restricted to family and not much damage occurred, he always turned a blind eye.

Now it seemed… it was time for some change.

“Get the driver to send her back and forth from school and for meals. If I discover anyone giving her pocket money secretly, the culprits will lose theirs too.”

The atmosphere in the dining room got bitingly cold.

After Old Master frostily finished, he left without giving Ji Ruoqian and company a single look.

When Old Master Ji was gone, Ji Ruoqian could no longer restrain her tears and emotions. Breaking past all barriers suddenly, she slumped into her chair as she lay prone on the table and wailed.
