Chapter 674: Chapter 646: Life is Like a Song

Time flows like a gentle stream, always slipping away unnoticed.

Less than two months after the battle with the Qingmin Deer Lord’s faction had ended, Debra returned as she had promised, back to the Song Praise Plane that she had vowed to protect with her life.

As for aligning with others, this was a serious matter, and Debra needed to go back and consult with others about it.

Fifty years is not so easily passed; they have time to deliberate carefully. During this period, if they could explore another viable path, it would be even better.

Ivan gave her his blessings.

In the years that followed, Antoinette had been busy proving herself and walking her own path, so much so that she was occupied stirring up trouble everywhere.

In the days of her confinement, those who had obstructed and suppressed her arrangements–she now named them one by one and brought her grievances to their doors.

In the fourth year after her release, Antoinette didn’t forget the promise she had made. She spent a significant amount of her strength and resources to resurrect Mavis and bring her back into this world.

As Antoinette had said, the Mavis of that time was no longer merely a Divine Statue but a living, breathing being of flesh and blood.

Compared to her form as a divine statue, Mavis’s beauty and presence were even more striking. With nine-tenths of Antoinette’s charm–known as the most beautiful woman–she was undoubtedly a true beauty.

And so, Antoinette once again embarked on her journey of vengeance, determined to locate her greatest enemy and retaliate against Vigidina.

Antoinette casually left Mavis in Ivan’s care, saying it was so Mavis could monitor the happenings within the planes for him. Whether she had other motives, one could only speculate.

Ivan willingly accepted this arrangement.

Through observation, he found that Mavis was still the same Mavis–pure in nature, with a soft, gentle voice, someone who found it hard to refuse others. She bore many similarities to the Antoinette of the past and shared traits with Anjie in the present.

However, Mavis’s demeanor was not due to her being one of the Four Seasons Heavenly Girls; it was simply part of her personality.

“That wretch! She actually dared to hide from me!”

More than half a year later, Antoinette returned in a huff, fuming with anger.

On the Demon Spirit Continent, within a certain medium-to-large-sized city, Ivan had flawlessly integrated himself, becoming a part of the city and establishing a temporary place of residence.

“This just proves that your reputation is so fearsome that she has no choice but to avoid confronting you head-on,” Ivan said calmly as he observed the stormy arrival of the individual before him.

“That wretch had the gall to seize my Mu Sen’s Staff but no courage to face me directly. How outrageous!”

“A wretch will always be a wretch, hiding in dark corners and resorting to filthy schemes, doing shameful deeds that cannot see the light of day. And yet, such a person dares to hold my Mu Sen’s Staff.”

“Shameless!”

“The epitome of disgrace!”

Antoinette ranted and raved for a long time.

Ivan couldn’t quite tell whether she was more distressed about not finding her enemy, losing her beloved staff, or if she was just using the opportunity to vent with insinuations–or perhaps all of these things were tangled together.

The truth was, just a few days ago, Ivan had made a mistake–a mistake that all men are said to make.

Though, truthfully, it wasn’t exactly a mistake. After all, he and Mavis deeply admired each other, and spending every day together made it inevitable for them to have moments where emotions couldn’t be contained. Could anyone really expect him to endure indefinitely?

Now, with Antoinette storming back, he couldn’t help but feel like he had been caught in the act.

Faced with Antoinette’s endless tirade, Ivan could only silently endure, lest her fury unexpectedly turn toward him.

At this moment, Mavis–alerted by the commotion–hesitated before cautiously approaching. Upon seeing Antoinette’s evident anger, she instinctively shrank back, softened her steps, and tiptoed to Ivan’s side, quietly listening as well.

“Mavis, you’ve been slacking off lately.”

“I’ll work even harder!”

“You–never mind. Come with me; I have other instructions for you.”

Seeing the two in front of her, Antoinette quickly lost her temper. She turned away and left, taking Mavis with her, as fiery and determined as when she had arrived.

Ivan chuckled silently.

Given the relationship between Antoinette and Mavis, could this be considered an indirect connection between himself and Antoinette? Knowing her personality, her feelings about this situation were likely quite complicated–too tangled to unravel quickly.

In truth, he himself couldn’t quite figure things out. In any case, he decided to let things take their course naturally.

And so, several more years passed in a flash.

In the blink of an eye, they had entered the ninth year of the ten-year deadline.

Much to Ivan’s frustration, despite all his efforts and extensive searches, he could find not the faintest trace of the World Tree. As Antoinette had described, ordinary beings couldn’t hope to encounter that magnificent existence–many had never even heard of it.

Evidently, this foreign sorcerer was no exception.

Now, with only a year and a half remaining, his hopes were almost completely dashed after many fruitless pursuits.

Thankfully, apart from this matter, everything else was going smoothly. Particularly in areas of strength and knowledge, he had made remarkable progress.

Each plane had its unique characteristics. If the Danaila Plane was a melting pot of diversity and flourishing creativity, then the Elf Plane specialized in the way of life, having developed lifeforce to its utmost potential.

For this reason, everything in this plane could be imbued with life, transforming into unique spirit creatures.

While staying in such a plane, Ivan’s exploration and understanding of the Life Path advanced by leaps and bounds.

Undoubtedly, whether it was the Way of the Soul or the Life Path, both were exceptionally profound forces, neither of which could be considered even slightly inferior to the other.
