Chapter 45: The Battle In Court

Gerald and his ex-wife looked at each other, not knowing why Shannon would go to such lengths to help them.

Shannon took two steps and turned back, “Let me know when you’ve thought it through. I’ll tell you the pin to the bank card, but this money isn’t for free. You have to write me an IOU.”
After saying that, Shannon left Gerald’s company. Unexpectedly, she met Janice’s good friend at the lobby.

“Tl see you in court.” Shannon coldly said to Finn, then walked inside.

‘The trial didn’t end until late in the afternoon. As the presiding judge hammered down the gavel, the lawsuit ended.

Shannon won. She fell back into her chair, heaving a long sigh of relief. This was the most strenuous lawsuit she had ever taken on since she started out as a lawyer.
“Congratulations, Miss Zanders.” Finn extended his hand to express his goodwill.

However, Shannon didn’t shake his hand. Instead, she stared coldly at Finn.

“aren’t we celebrating the same thing? As lawyers, what we should do is to uphold justice, don’t you agree?” Shannon’s voice was extremely disdainful.

Finn’s expression immediately darkened. He knew what she was talking about.

“Miss Zanders, I think there’s been a misunderstanding between us. I…”

“Misunderstanding? What misunderstanding are you talking about? The previous divorce lawsuit involving Mr. Whitt? I don’t think that is a misunderstanding. It was intentional.” Shannon didn’t beat about the bush.
Finn’s expression became increasingly ugly. He had always felt that he was a very capable person. What happened last time was indeed a little disgraceful to him.

Shannon had just walked to the law firm when she heard her name mentioned in the pantry beside the office. She walked into the office nonchalantly.
