Suddenly, the mobile phone on the bedside table rang. Lu Zhanbei’s eyebrows were creased with a hint of annoyance at being disturbed. He leaned over and grabbed his mobile phone. Without so much as a glance at the caller ID, he rejected the call.
He turned to look at the girl on the bed. Perhaps the ringing had disturbed her. She frowned and turned over, but did not wake up. Soon, her breathing became regular again.
Lu Zhanbei then turned around to leave the bedroom. He called back the person he had just dismissed, his tone a little cold. “What’s the matter?”

Tong Yi opened her eyes. Looking at her unfamiliar surroundings, she felt a moment of confusion.

He was bathed in the clear light. The side profile of his face was chiseled and smooth, and his thin lips were slightly pursed. His quiet appearance was the same as Lu Zhanbei in real life. He looked cultured and refined, exuding a warm and peaceful aura.

“You’re awake?”
Tong Yi nodded and stood unmoving at the door. “When did you come back?”

Initially, Tong Yi had thought that Lu Zhanbei must have been the one who had carried her into the bedroom because there were only two of them in the room. However, upon seeing his nonchalant reaction, coupled with his usual indifferent attitude toward her, Tong Yi felt like she was overthinking things.
‘Could it have been a hotel attendant?’
‘Or did I sleepwalk?’
Tong Yi frowned as she walked toward the bathroom, trying to recall what had actually happened. However, she had woken up early in the morning yesterday and had taken a flight. She must have been too tired and had slept very soundly, so she had no recollection of what happened last night.
