Chapter 4: Was He Faking It?

There was finally hope for Guan Tong. She felt that she might make it out alive after all.

“I’m saying this for your good.” Guan Tong said fearfully. But Lu Han knew in his heart that he wouldn’t kill her because of the pair of familiar eyes.

“I’m injured. Do you know what to do tomorrow?” Lu Han asked to ensure that Guan Tong knew how she would act tomorrow.

“I know, I know.” Guan Tong nodded quickly. Wasn’t he just faking being injured? She had read quite a few President texts.

“Now, you can undress me and give me a bath.” Lu Han said lightly.

“Okay…What!?” Guan Tong stood up. She thought she would deal with the Lu family tomorrow, but she did not expect bathing Lu Han would be a part of it.

“I’m injured, and I’m your husband? Shouldn’t you bathe me?” 

“But you…” Guan Tong was about to retort when Lu Han’s sharp eyes struck her. She had to lower her head under the eaves and comfort herself secretly.

“Alright, then.” Guan Tong squeezed out these two words between her teeth. This bridal chamber was barely usable. How would the precious body of the Young Master of the Lu family endure it? Hence, they decided to move to a new room instead.

Guan Tong heaved a sigh of relief. The new room was minimalistic, and it was no longer bright red. Guan Tong had just finished sizing up when she saw that the man had taken off his clothes in front of her. 

Guan Tong gulped. Lu Han’s body was almost too perfect, and it was better than the ones on male celebrities or actors that she had seen before.

“What? Why are you stunned?” Lu Han remarked. Guan Tong came back to her senses. She realized that the other party was mocking her, and she did not want to show him that she had any weaknesses.

“You have a good physique.” Guan Tong replied nonchalantly. After her words, she had come to regret it, for that the Young Master might have felt annoyed and decided to end her life.

“You’re lucky to be able to see me without my clothes on.” Lu Han looked at Guan Tong with a faint smile. 

‘What? The Young Master of the Lu family must be kidding.’ Guan Tong thought to herself. The bathing process was torturous for Guan Tong. She still had to endure the risk of a nosebleed and was still worried that this Young Master of the Lu family would kill her if she did something that displeased him.

“Alright, you can get up now.” Guan Tong said after she endured this torturous process. Lu Han’s closed eyes finally opened, and Guan Tong felt a wave of detest.

“Tonight, we’ll sleep together in this room.” With a splash, Lu Han stood up from the water.

‘Don’t look at him when he’s naked. Don’t look at him when he’s naked.’ Guan Tong quickly covered her eyes as he thought to herself. She could still see his fine physique through the gap between her fingers.

“I’ll sleep on the bed, and you sleep on the ground.” Lu Han said. Guan Tong wanted to do this anyway since she wanted to avoid physical contact with him.

It was late at night, and Guan Tong was lying on the ground. Fortunately, Lu Han was civil enough and asked Uncle Tang to give her a cushion. However, Guan Tong could not fall asleep no matter how hard she tried. She had kept all her clothes on even though she usually slept naked at her old house.

“You sound like a bug. What are you doing?” Lu Han finally could not listen to Guan Tong’s rustling anymore and opened his eyes.

“Nothing.” Guan Tong replied.

“If you’re feeling uncomfortable, just take off your clothes.” Lu Han was already exhausted, and the girl’s rustling sound on the floor made it harder for him to fall asleep. Guan Tong’s face instantly turned red. Fortunately, it was pitch black, and no one could see her. 

“No…nothing, it’s quite comfortable.” Guan Tong didn’t want to take off her clothes in front of Lu Han and decided to lay in her bed quietly until Lu Han had fallen asleep. Then she quickly took off her clothes in bed and planned to wake up earlier than he would the following day so she could put on her clothes before he woke up to see her.

Guan Tong repeatedly thought about what had happened over the past month. She knew that she had entered a tiger’s den, but there was nothing she could do to change things. Lu Han had not let down his guard either. Now, she was sure that he was most likely probing her. Eventually, her identity wouldn’t be a secret anymore. She had to think of the next step quickly. Just because Lu Han did not kill her today did not mean that he would not try to kill her tomorrow even if he was in a good mood.

Lu Han opened his eyes, but his breathing remained at its pace. He was not asleep and just wanted to see what the girl would do next after sleeping. In Lu Han’s mind, Guan Tong’s identity raised his suspicion, and he wanted to investigate her background and find out who the girl indeed was.

As Lu Han was thinking, he saw that the girl was quite beautiful. It was only her scars that dulled her beauty. He wondered what could’ve been the relationship between Guan Tong and that woman he saw and why they looked so similar?

The next day, Guan Tong woke up in a daze at three in the morning. This was not her room that she was familiar with. It took her a moment to finally realize that she was married to Lu Han. Guan Tong turned her head and saw no one on the bed. However, she heard the sound of water coming from the bathroom. 

Guan Tong was annoyed, as she intended to get up before Lu Han. She realized that he was taking a shower, and she quickly stood up and put on her clothes. Finally, there was no longer a need for her to wear a traditional wedding dress. As beautiful as the dress was, it was massive and inconvenient..
