Chapter 42: Avenging Her Father’s Death

At hearing Lin Xue’s name, Jian Rushi was stunned for a moment. She had thought that it was the entanglement among them three, but she hadn’t expected that the outsider Lin Xue would get involved in it.

But in fact, Lin Xue was not an outsider.

After careful investigation, it turned out that Lin Xue had happened to be in the cafe when Jian Rushi had been talking with Xiang that day.

Mr. Helian handed the investigation report to Jian Rushi. She opened the report and read it carefully. After browsing the information of Lin Xue, she said in surprise, “What a surprise! There’s enmity between me and her.”

Lin Xue got a shock when she learned from Xiang that Jian Rushi’s original name was Jian Hua. Then she was overwhelmed with hatred.

The reason was very simple– her father was that pedophile who had been killed by Jian Rushi.

Lin Xue’s father was the man who had tried to molest Jian. Although he was a wicked person in the eyes of others, to Lin Xue he was the foundation of her life.

After Jian had killed Lin Xue’s father, Lin Xue and her mother had led a very hard life, and always been pointed at by others. Afterwards, her mother couldn’t stand the gossip, so she moved to another city with Lin Xue. Because of the lack of working skills, she was reduced to becoming a prostitute for a living. After having a tough time, she finally brought Lin Xue up.

Lin Xue, who had grown up in the complex environment, seemed gentle and harmless on the surface, but in fact she was self-abased and jealous. She hated others living better than her.

At college she had always been jealous of Jian Rushi. Last time at the gathering, Jian had stolen her thunder. So when Lin Xue learned that Jian Rushi was the culprit for her father’s death and her unhappy childhood, she felt a strong sense of hatred.

Lin Xue wanted to kill Jian through the hands of Jian’s one-time best friend, but she overestimated that woman’s psychological endurance. As soon as Helian Ze’s men threatened her with a knife, she came out with the truth. She also gave the name of the chief culprit– Lin Xue.

Helian Ze told Jian what was going on, but he didn’t take Jian to see Lin Xue because Jian was carrying a baby and he didn’t want her to see some dirty things.

Jian Rushi didn’t insist on seeing Lin Xue. ‘Whether I go to see her or not, she can’t escape the punishment of the law. It is undeniable that she hired the taxi driver to kill me. Mr. Helian will prosecute her and throw her in prison. I reckon she will spend her life in prison,’ Jian thought to herself.

“A person who does something bad will bring trouble to his offspring.”

If Lin Xue was born in a normal family, she would not have such a serious psychological problem, nor would she have attempted to kill Jian because of past events.

“Fortunately, I have been doing charity.”

Mr. Helian thought in his heart, ‘Maybe I should invest more money in the charity programs.”

They talked for a while and then put this matter behind them. Since it had been solved, it was no big deal and not worth mentioning.

However, Jian Rushi had been nearly injured several times, which scared Mr. Helian. So he kept her at home and forbade her from going out. Even though Jian was obedient, she could not stand it as time went on.

She stayed at home nourishing the fetus. Gradually, she got bored with the monotonous life.

One day she phoned Tang Ge and asked, “I remember the day of the fan meeting is coming. Where will the fan meeting be held this time?”

Although she was just a little star, she still had a group of loyal fans. Her fan meeting was held every year, and she attended it every year.

“That’s what I was going to talk with you about. You are pregnant now, and it’s inconvenient for you to take part in such activities. So I intend to cancel the fan meeting.” Tang Ge smiled and continued, “Besides, Mr. Helian is so sensitive about your safety. Will he let you out?”

Hearing this, Jian Rushi suddenly sat up, raised her voice and said with emphasis, “I’m the queen of the Helian family now, and I can easily order Helian Ze about. Even if I act first and report afterwards, dare he do anything to me?”

Jian’s confident voice persuaded Tang Ge. She rubbed her forehead with her hand and said, “Okay. The fan meeting will be held in A City at 8 o’clock tomorrow morning.”

“That’s great! Remember to pick me up.”
