Chapter 40: End the Gratitude and Feud, Return Everything to the Grave

When Chen An and the group rushed to the battle stage, dazzling blue lights were streaking across the stage. Both Icicles River Carp and Zheng Qing were bursting forth with stronger powers than before.

“Chen An, this move was prepared for you. But I’ve run out of patience and gone slightly overboard. Sorry.” Zheng Qing spoke apologetic words, but he wore a frolic expression.

This was Cracking Icicles River, the Joint Combo that Zheng Qing had kept hidden for a long time! It had such a shocking effect when used!

He looked up. “Now, who else dares to doubt my powers?”

This was the second time that he had challenged Chen An on the ranking battle stage.

Unlike the last time, everyone knew that Chen An had no means to victory after witnessing the Cracking Icicles River.

The Icicles River Carp’s size immediately multiplied, and the long whiskers around its mouth were about to float outside the battle stage.

He charged toward Chen An furiously and formed a deep, dark abyss in the cold ice as he sped through it.

As he moved, Zheng Qing carved out that familiar carp totem behind him. The only difference was that the patterns were more complicated, and the colors deeper this time.

Chen An was not going to dodge this attack. He would confront it!

This was a world that viewed talentless people as trash. Dou Buxiang was once a pitiful beast that was bullied by others. It only stood out after fighting alongside him on a battle stage.

The young lady who strove to become more powerful… The bright, fiery red hair and the sound of the wind chimes when the wind blew across the windows…

The clan leader’s orders were clear—Zheng Qing’s objective was to destroy Chen An’s beast-taming path of Chen An.

When the Icicles River Carp was about to trample on Dou Buxiang, a surge of powerful force charged toward the Icicles River Carp and swayed its path.

Zheng Qing cursed inwardly. This had never occurred before. Fear enveloped his entire body, but he told himself that he must not lose!

The Cracking Icicles River immediately launched a second attack. Countless, tiny traces appeared on the earlier enormous crack and traveled in a lightning-like motion rapidly.

Chen An looked down slightly, and he could sense a complicated force spinning in between Dou Buxiang and him. He could manipulate it and then burst forth with it!

Zheng Qing’s eyes widened suddenly. He could not control it! He was increasingly losing his control! Be it his body or the Icicles River Carp, they were collapsing unknowingly until they completely fell apart!

The Icicles River Carp was flung out of the stage and landed in the deep ravine it had created. Zheng Qing was defeated once again.

Amid the endless mist, Chen An’s figure gradually became clear. From his thin-looking side profile, he was pursing his lips tightly.

“He… has won?” Someone said softly.

It was unbelievable. After witnessing Zheng Qing’s battle prowess, Chen An could still beat him again. What else could this prove but that one did not need any reason or basis to be powerful?

It was certainly hard to admit. That was not something that Chen An had attained from other beasts, but a Joint Combo that solely belonged to him!
