“Hao Xuan did not call me for many days again. Is there really something going on?” Outside the office, Yang Yuxi thought about Zheng Rui’s words and could not help pondering deeply. However, she dispelled such suspicions very quickly. Lovers should have mutual trust. She had been together with Hao Xuan since they were in college.

Arriving at the classroom, Yang Yuxi asked the subject representative to distribute the assignments. Her eyes landed on Chen Yu’s seat. He was still absent. After class, Yang Yuxi called Chen Yu. The call was picked up by someone who sounded like an elderly woman. “Hello, I am Chen Yu’s teacher. My surname is Yang. Are you Chen Yu’s family member?” Yang Yuxi said. “I am Chen Yu’s grandmother,” The voice on the other side of the phone said.

“Hello, Grandma Chen. Is Chen Yu around?” Yang Yuxi asked. “He is unwell and sleeping now,” Grandmother Chen said. “Ah, he is unwell. Since when?” Yang Yuxi asked anxiously. “Since yesterday night. After he came back, he ran into a high fever the next morning,” Grandmother Chen said worriedly.

Yang Yuxi’s heart sank. The day before was the day that she went to look for Chen Yu. It seemed that Chen Yu’s illness had something to do with the bottle of hard liquor that he downed. At the thought of this, her heart was filled with guilt. “Grandma Chen, can you tell me your address? I’ll go and visit Chen Yu.”

Grandmother Chen told her the address and Yang Yuxi rushed over. Initially, she had planned to call Ye Ming and inform him but she was afraid that he would not agree to it. Hence, she simply did not notify him and took action before reporting.
