Sometimes I wonder to myself if that was a chance encounter by fate.

It was strange in that sense that when you see someone for the first time, you would feel that you could spend a lifetime with that person. Regardless of the formality, as long as the person stayed in your life, the bliss and happiness would seem deserving.

I still remembered the first time I met him.

Of course, I should refer to him as ‘her’. Who would have thought that she was really a girl? His features were deep and although he looked beautiful and gentle, his every move was valiant and dashing. He was tall and exceedingly handsome in formal clothes.

The mature and elegant queen nodded lightly. “It’s a letter to myself. I can burn it now.”

“Why do you have to burn it?”

The letter continued to burn in the flames of the fireplace. It finally turned into gray ashes. The queen beckoned to her son with both her hands. She watched as the little prince came scuttling to him, clad in formal clothes. Her heart was filled with peace and tenderness.

The king strode in with a smile from outside the hall. “I heard that you went out today?”

The queen nodded with a smile. “I went to visit a longtime friend of mine. She is leading a blissful life now.”

The king raised his eyebrows and put his arm around her shoulders. “How blissful is her life? Is it like ours?”

Dai Linnuo chuckled softly.

“Yes, just like us.”
