Chapter 9: Interview

There were two dishes and a soup on the dining table. There was mushroom chicken, cucumber beef, and spinach soup.

Breakfast was just simple eggs and beef that had been marinated. Tonight’s meal would really show if she cooked often.

Cheng Fang took a bite of the food and raised his eyebrows. He smiled and said, “I didn’t expect you to cook so well. I thought that since there were servants at home, you just had to wait for food to be served.”

Kong Zhao’s eyebrows twitched when he heard this. Kong Rong indeed just waited for food to be served. She was only an adopted daughter, so she wasn’t qualified. However, she couldn’t say this. She looked up at Cheng Fang. “I like cooking, so I cook often.”

The two of them fell silent after their simple conversation and ate their food quietly.

At night, Kong Zhao took out her laptop and started to write her resume. Her parents were hiding from her and refused to give her the money, but Mrs. Li’s hospital fees couldn’t be delayed. She had to find a job immediately.

As for the surgery fee, it wasn’t something they could refuse to give just because they wanted to!

When they slept at night, one slept on the bed and one slept on the sofa, as usual.

Two days later, Kong Zhao received an interview invitation from the CF Group. There were two rounds of interviews. The first round was a written test. There would only be an interview after that.

The CF Group was involved in various industries and was the leader of the industry. Kong Zhao would be interviewed by the designers of the clothing company.

Cheng Fang, who had just washed up, took a towel to the living room to dry his hair. When he saw Kong Zhao, who was curled up on the sofa and smiling foolishly at the computer, he joked, “You look so happy. Did you find a treasure?”

Kong Zhao said excitedly, “I received an interview invitation from the CF Group for tomorrow at nine!”

Cheng Fang stopped drying his hair. “It’s just an interview invitation. Why are you so excited?”

When Kong Zhao heard Cheng Fang’s dismissive reply, she immediately straightened her back and said, “CF Group can be ranked among the top companies internationally! It has only been established for a short period of time, but it already has such a high status. Their boss is simply a genius. Unfortunately, he’s too mysterious. Not a single photo of him can be found online.”

Cheng Fang relaxed and smiled. “It seems like you admire their company.”

Kong Zhao immediately said, “Of course, I’ve done some research. Among the dozens of fashion design companies, their clothing design ideas resonate with mine!”

Cheng Fang raised his eyebrows. “Then I wish you success!”

Kong Zhao agreed happily.

The next morning, after Kong Zhao woke up, she went straight to the CF Group with light makeup on.

There were only two designers being recruited this time, but Kong Zhao looked around and felt that there were almost 100 people. Everyone was arranged to wait in the waiting area. The written test was divided into three groups of 20 to 30 people. Kong Zhao was arranged to be in the second group.

Before long, the first batch of people started to write the written test. Among the two HRs that came in, one of them was Kong Zhao’s acquaintance, Lin Lin!

The two of them looked at each other. Seeing that the other party was rolling her eyes at her from afar, Kong Zhao couldn’t be bothered with her.

Soon, the second batch arrived. Kong Zhao walked to the end of the line. Lin Lin deliberately slowed down and walked to Kong Zhao’s side. “Miss Kong, you actually need to work?”

Kong Zhao ignored her. Lin Lin felt angry and continued, “Someone of your level shouldn’t come to our company to embarrass yourself. I bet you won’t even pass the first level!”

Kong Zhao sneered. “Lin Lin, what’s the point of you doing this? The truth of what happened back then has already been revealed. You still want to falsely accuse me?!”

As they spoke, the two of them walked to the examination hall for the written test. Lin Lin couldn’t say anything else, so she only glared at Kong Zhao.

The seats in the examination hall were arranged in six rows and five columns. Kong Zhao was at the back of the fifth row. Another HR was in charge of distributing the first three rows’ written test papers. Lin Lin was in charge of distributing the last three rows’ test papers.

Kong Zhao took a look at the test paper and realized that many of the theoretical questions were somewhat profound. If it wasn’t for the fact that she had helped her teacher collect a large amount of information during her university years and had practical participation experience, she might not have been able to answer many of the questions.

The 45-minute examination time passed quickly. After Kong Zhao finished checking the papers for the last time and felt confident, she stood up and handed in the papers before walking out of the examination hall.

Lin Lin stared at Kong Zhao’s back and smiled maliciously.
