Chapter 3.1: What the husband should do

‘You look like your usual self today’

Ain, who was usually rumored to be flawless, took off his cramped mask only in front of his shadow knights.

He took off the mask made up of thorough pretense and had now a languid, tired smile on his lips.

That smile was certainly beautiful but it also seemed lacking in some ways. Doesn’t he look like a vampire longing for blood? The harmony of golden hair, eyes and red lips was reminiscent of an alluring devil.

“It’s really unexpected. For a moment, i thought you were a dreamer who came to seduce me.”

An arc was drawn on Ain’s lips. I look at my outfit once and open my mouth with a slightly embarrassed expression.

“…….. There was no way to take off the dress so i came with it on. I apologies for showing you my immature side.”

“I am quite immature then. You made me happy so there’s no need for apologies.”

His golden eyes curved like a half moon.

“Hill, my Hill” (t/n: aight we have the second male lead!!(~‾▿‾)~)

He smiled and his low voice called my name one after another. But i was not fooled by his smile. It’s usually when you’re in a bad mood when you call me like that. (T/n: I’m guessing cuz you got married)

When i was not recognized by the emperor or when the nobles did not move in the palm of his hand like he wanted it to, he would often call my name that way.

“Maybe this is good too…. I have someone I want to kill.”

I knew it. As I expected, a twisted tone of voice came out of his mouth.

“Please name it”

I made eye contact with him and quietly waited for his command. But instead of answering, he got up and came closer to me. As the overbearing black shadow drew closer, my heart raced.

“Whoever I want to kill”

He came up to me, knelt down on one knee and looked into my eyes. Then he came closer and whispered so that no one could hear him.

“The Fool Prince, Jeremy.”

At his whisper, I nodded without agitation. Then he smiled like he was surprised and looked at me.

“Aren’t you suprised?”

I shook my head slowly.

‘Im not gonna kill yet’

He ordered me to kill Jeremy both at the first life and at the second. But by the time I left the room, I would lightly hear my name.

It’s like doing a very easy prank.

“Aren’t you curious why I asked you to do this?”

“Actually…… I’m curious. Why did you make that decision all of a sudden?”

“It’s seems that he’s Majesty the Emperor is trying form a new noble faction. It must have been to dismantle the nobles who had united into the crown prince faction”

“Wait…? Doesn’t His Majesty believe completely in the Crown prince?”

“Right. That incompetent Emperor is on my side but this time, it seems that he has fallen for the empress” (t/n: I’m not sure if this means fall in love or fall in a trap but based on the situation, I’m guessing that he has fallen into a trap)

“…..Her Majesty the Empress? So what about the new noble faction?…. Will they be following the Empress faction or the Empress…..”

“No, the Empress will probably try to present Jeremy.”

“What? So you’re saying they’re forming a Emperor candidate sect?”

Our crown prince is acting like an idiot, so there aren’t many close aristocrats to him.

Moreover, although he was the next heir to the throne after the Crown prince, no one would think that he would become emperor. But what you mean by forming a faction that supports Jeremy?

“Unlike the Emperor, the Empress is a person who is good at politics. At this point in time, where most of the nobles are in my faction, it must not have been reassuring to create the Imperial princess faction. What? So you’re saying that the Empress is trying to take advantage of our prince like this?

“Well, so what should I do?”

As he staggered in embarrassment, Ain burst out laughing. His expression, which had been overflowing with anger, seemed to have softened.

“I must set an example for the Empress by killing the prince or the princess.”

Oh my gosh…. To say it like that. The appearance of Ain, who talked about the death of others so easily, seemed too cruel like a demon.

“Still…. Is that it? You didn’t have any other plans…..”

“Originally, i was going to keep you by his side and watch over him. But that doesn’t make me want to kill the prince, so there’s no way.”

Because you always want to kill him, he acts like an idiot!

The prince’s manner was always brutally simple. Anything i don’t like is mercilessly removed from my eyes. That was the way he lived.

Jeremy, who had always been checked by the Crown prince, even if he didn’t want to, raised the white flag early in a way that makes you look like an idiot.

After that, Ain didn’t really care about Jeremy because the stupid prince couldn’t be his enemy. If he had to risk killing Jeremy, he’d rather use him as material to illuminate his halo.(t/n: to make his public appearance look kind or merciful)

Prince Ain, who is said to be a genius of the undisputed and Jeremy, the foolish prince. Isn’t there any better combination to make you shine? It was also the reason why Jeremy was the only survivor from the Crown prince, who always insisted on removing anyone who would become an enemy.

“So you have to kill Jeremy.” (T/n: y’know, just pull a dagger and stab. Happens in daily life)

But the current Ain was telling him to kill Jeremy. The soft golden eyes were so quiet and unshakable. I knew he wasn’t going to kill Jeremy but I was a little terrified.

“Name….”

I pretended to be calm at his command and bowed my head.

“I will do it”
