Actual Fairytale – Picking up a Mermaid! (17)
Lu Shijin’s prediction was right. Shen Shao contacted Jun Yu after two days, saying that he noticed his condition improving. During the call, he kept praising master Yu for being so great and hoped to meet with him to discuss his treatment plan.
The big fish finally fell for it, so their next step was for Shen Shao to break everything off with Jun Li.
After going to master Yu three times, Shen Shao trusted Jun Li’s ability completely.
Even though he would always fall asleep and not remember anything about the actual acupuncture.
He had to admit that his efforts for over ten years, testing various drugs on himself, did nothing compared to Jun Yu’s treatment of two times.
Shen Shao didn’t care how Jun Yu was treating him, as long as there was a result.
Especially since Chinese medicine was naturally mysterious and abstruse. Apparently, qi could be used to cure diseases, so that’s probably what Jun Yu did.
“Master Yu, how many times do you think is needed to finish my treatment?” Shen Shao’s eyes were full of excitement. After all, this was a nightmare that had haunted him for tens of years, and he was finally about to be free of it.
“Since you’re willing to believe in me, I’ll naturally try my best to cure you.” Jun Yu’s expression grew solemn. “But I need your cooperation.”
“Of course, I’ll definitely cooperate.” Shen Shao took out a golden card from his bag and put it in front of Jun Yu, smiling, “Master Yu, take this as a token of my appreciation. You’ve been treating me for free these couple times, and I should’ve long expressed my thanks. This is just a down payment, if you can truly cure me, I’ll definitely give you more gifts.”
If he didn’t take the payment, it would make Shen Shao think that he had other intentions. Only by accepting without any complaints would Shen Shao trust him.
That’s why Jun Yu didn’t refuse it and directly put it into his pocket.
“It would be disrespectful to refuse a gift, so I’ll just accept it.”
Seeing Jun Yu take his card, Shen Shao smiled with satisfaction.
“Master Yu wants my cooperation, may I ask how?”
Jun Yu replied, “You need at least two years to completely treat the root cause, but even then, you might need to spend the rest of your life recuperating.”
Shen Shao nodded, “I understand, I will.”
“There’s also something else.” Jun Yu looked at Shen Shao and said sternly, “You must remain abstinent. You can’t do those things.”
Shen Shao’s smile froze, seeming a bit confused, “Why’s that?”
Jun Yu explained slowly, “We pay attention to your qi. Right now, you’re lacking in it, and doing those things will only make your qi lessen even more. Then, wouldn’t all the qi I’ve been giving you be wasted? You must realize that you must make sacrifices to achieve your goals. If you want to be cured, then sacrifice is necessary. Of course, I know that it’s natural to partake in such activities, so if you can’t accept that, you might as well find someone else.”
Then, Jun Yu took out that golden card again and passed it back to Shen Shao, leaving the choice to him.
Shen Shao frowned tightly and thought about it, then closed his eyes, seeming to have made his decision. He gave the card back to Jun Yu and said solemnly.
“No, master Yu, I believe you. I’ll do whatever you want.”
Jun Yu smiled happily, “That’s good. Then, since Mr. Shen has expressed such sincerity, I will naturally not disappoint. I’ll make a plan soon and send it to you for review. If you have no issues with it, then we can start it next week.”
Shen Shao was a highly educated social elite. He normally shouldn’t have believed in something with so many loopholes.
But his eagerness to save himself blinded him to these loopholes and made him believe in Jun Yu.
It’s like how these spiritual practices were invented, by scientists who couldn’t figure out the actual science behind something and blamed it on the supernatural.
Right now, Jun Yu was like a savior to Shen Shao.
Shen Shao left the room full of hope. Lu Shijin also felt like his plan was half achieved. Thinking about how he was one step closer to escaping Jun Yu, he couldn’t stop his happiness.
Jun Yu had been following him around for the last couple of days, so Lu Shijin was careful to hide his happiness.
They were eating out for dinner. Lu Shijin was so happy that he ordered a bottle of the most expensive red wine to celebrate.
The waiter soon brought it over and after they decanted the wine, Jun Yu and Lu Shijin were both given a glass.
“Why are we drinking?” Jun Yu asked with confusion.
Lu Shijin responded without any change in expression, “Why not? This has been fermented for twenty years, try it.”
Jun Yu took a sip. He seemed to like the taste, as expected from a precious twenty-year old drink. His expression showed appreciation.
His glass was soon empty and he poured himself another glass, which he also gulped down quickly. It was like he hadn’t drank in a long time.
Lu Shijin couldn’t resist saying, “Drink slower, it’s easy to get drunk on wine.”
Jun Yu put down his glass, saying uncaringly, “It’s fine, it’s just a glass.”
Lu Shijin asked, “You live in the ocean, so you probably don’t drink, right?”
“Of course.” Jun Yu seemed like he heard a joke, using a ‘why would you ask something so stupid’ gaze to look at Li Shijin, “It’s all seawater there, how could there be alcohol?”
Lu Shijin regretted asking this when he saw Jun Yu’s gaze. He shouldn’t have tried talking with this stupid fish!
Lu Shijin only drank a third of the glass. The rest made its way into Jun Yu’s stomach. When they walked out, Jun Yu’s eyes were a bit glazed, clearly tipsy.
Lu Shijin took joy in his misfortune. Who told him to be so greedy and get drunk? Hopefully he won’t do anything when he’s drunk, so Lu Shijin can just dump him on the side of the road somewhere to sleep.
Lu Shijin couldn’t drive because he drank, but thankfully, the car had a self-driving function, so Lu Shijin only needed to input a destination.
Jun Yu leaned against the back of his seat and fell asleep. It would take an hour to get home, and Lu Shijin was bored just sitting there, so he started playing games on his personal terminal.
But before he could finish his game, he felt movement from Jun Yu. Glancing to the side, he saw that Jun Yu actually became a merperson, his large tail pressed awkwardly against everything, slapping the windshield.
Lu Shijin was speechless, “The fuck? They’ll return to merperson form after drinking too much?”
That wasn’t even the worst thing about it. The worst thing was that Lu Shijin noticed there seemed to be a bump in that spot again. He momentarily wanted to jump out of the car.
Could merpeople be horny after drinking?!
