Actual Fairytale – Picking up a Mermaid! (19)
Jun Yu finally went back to the surface. Their lips separated and Lu Shijin gulped down breaths of fresh air as he glared at Jun Yu, silently complaining.
“Don’t look at me like that, you’re the one who wanted something more exciting.” Jun Yu said without any change in expression.
Lu Shijin was breathing a bit more calmly, “What kind of exciting was that? You almost killed me!”
“I clearly saved you.”
Lu Shijin snorted, “More like you took advantage of me.”
Jun Yu smiled, “If I was really doing that, it wouldn’t be this little.”
Lu Shijin didn’t want to talk anymore. He suddenly realized that this was a merperson whose scale was open, and this was his place. Lu Shijin couldn’t do anything if he actually did something.
“I don’t want to swim anymore. I want to go back.” Lu Shijin asked weakly.
“Sure.” Jun Yu said magnanimously, “But I still feel a bit uncomfortable and might not be able to turn my tail into legs on land.”
Then, he curled his tail around Lu Shijin amorously.
Lu Shijin: . . .
An angry merperson was difficult enough, but a horny one was even worse.
“I- I’ll help you once we get to shore!”

To adjust to human life, and to make Shen Shao feel pity, Jun Li had begun learning human food and how to cook, despite never even seeing fire before.
Even though his first attempts couldn’t be eaten, and he would always cut himself, something so painful he cried, Jun Li didn’t give up.
Anything was worth it for the one he loved.
His hard work paid off. After a month of practice, Jun Li could finally make a decent meal.
But he waited for a long time today for Shen Shao to come home and have dinner together to no avail.
Only when the dishes were all cold and he was almost asleep on the sofa did he hear the sound of the door opening.
“You’re back, have you eaten?” Although Jun Li was a bit unhappy from waiting so long, he would forget all of it as soon as he saw Shen Shao, leaving only happiness.
Shen Shao took off his shoes, “Yes.”
“Oh, you’ve already eaten.” Disappointed flashes across Jun Li’s face, but then brightened up again, acting cute, “Then can you eat a bit with me? I haven’t eaten yet. I made tonight’s meal all by myself, the auntie said they’re all things you like.”
Shen Shao didn’t look at Jun Li and when he tried to touch him, he moved his body to dodge it.
“I’m full, I don’t want to eat.”
Jun Li felt that Shen Shao was being cold, and asked him why his attitude changed so suddenly in a soft voice.
“What happened?” Jun Li stood there, feeling lost, “Did I do something wrong and made you angry?”
“Not angry.” Shen Shao frowned, then took a deep breath and said in a low voice, “Xiao Li, let’s break up.”
Jun Li blinked his eyes in shock, “Why?”
Shen Shao turned away, “We’re not suited. I can’t make you happy, sorry.”
“Why all of a sudden?” Jun Li couldn’t accept it and began crying, “Did something happen? Don’t be like this, we were fine yesterday, you can’t suddenly bring up breaking up. I don’t believe you, there must be something you’re hiding from me!”
“Yes, there is.” Shen Shao clenched his fist and finally looked at the pale merperson, “I wasn’t staying with you out of love, but because I’m sick and you’re a merperson who can cure me!”
Jun Li took a step back, his body shaking.
Shen Shao sneered self-deprecatingly, “Do you realize now? I stayed with you to take advantage of you.”
“Actually . . . I knew that.” Jun Li was sad, but he still forced a smile, “But I don’t blame you. You saved me, and treated me so well. If I can save you, then I’d even be willing to give you my life, much less some blood.””
Pain flashed across Shen Shao’s eyes. He suddenly shouted, “Are you dumb? Saving you, treating you well, those were all because I wanted to use you! That’s not like, not love! Why is there some merperson as dumb as you? Would you believe everything you’re told?”
“Yes, I am dumb, but I like you and I can’t control my feelings. What else can I do?” Jun Li tugged on Shen Shao’s sleeve, his voice full of pleading, “Shen Shao, I’m not blaming you, so please don’t abandon me, okay? Without me, who else could save you?”
The more Jun Li acted like this, the worse Shen Shao felt. He coldly pulled his sleeve from Jun Li’s hands.
“I don’t need you, I found another way. You’ve lost your value.”
Jun Li couldn’t believe this and more tears flooded his eyes, seeming very pitiful.
“You’re lying, right? How could this be, you’ve tried so hard to no avail, how can you suddenly find a cure? Shen Shao . . . I don’t believe it! There must be something else!”
“Do you really need me to say it?” Shen Shao’s throat bobbed, exhaling deeply, seeming to have made up his mind. He looked at Jun Li coldly and hooked up his lips cruelly. “I’ve never wanted to have a merperson partner. I hate merpeople the most. Your tail, your scales, I want to throw up every time I see them! Are you satisfied with this reason? That’s why I’ve continued searching for another way, I couldn’t wait to get rid of you. If it weren’t for your blood, I wouldn’t even have looked at you! Now, if you have any sense of shame, you should leave right now!”
At this point, no matter how many sacrifices Jun Li made for love before, he couldn’t handle the one he loved insulting him like this.
Jun Li looked at Shen Shao with disappointment but couldn’t find a hint of regret. He covered his face and cried, bolting out of the door.
Shen Shao returned to his senses after a long time.
He expressionlessly stared at the closed door, and the silence in his house. He finally realized that Jun Li would never come back.
Shen Shao felt like there was a hole in his heart. He didn’t know what to do, or what would happen tomorrow.
He wandered aimlessly throughout the house. Going into the dining room, and seeing the table full of cold dishes, he suddenly remembered the hopeless look on Jun Li’s face.
He suddenly swept everything off the table like he was crazy, as though that could erase Jun Li’s shadow over his heart.
