Last time Gu Ya went out after dark, and Su Yunjin initially remembered to ask him what he was up to, but later she got busy and forgot about it. That day, the couple were returning home from their shop.

Gu Ya looked at Su Yunjin and said, “Yunjin, I’ll take you to a place.” His mysterious demeanor piqued Yunjin’s curiosity.

“Honey, where are you taking me?” Su Yunjin stared at Gu Ya, waiting for his answer. Unexpectedly, Gu Ya didn’t give her one.

Instead, he teased her, “Yunjin, just follow me and you’ll find out soon enough.” Gu Ya’s secrecy made Su Yunjin even more curious.

Unable to wait any longer, Su Yunjin pressed Gu Ya for an answer.

“Honey, please tell me, please tell me,” Su Yunjin insisted, resorting to her seldom-used coquettish charm to persuade Gu Ya.

Normally, whenever Su Yunjin acted coquettishly towards Gu Ya, he would give in to her in anything, whether it was something as unreachable as the stars in the sky.

Now, pregnant, she felt it was quite strenuous.

Gu Ya could tell his wife was tired, so he stopped, tidied the loose strands of hair that dangled by her face, then bent down and scooped her into his arms entirely.

Su Yunjin instinctively wrapped her arms around Gu Ya’s neck, “Honey, what are you doing?” Couldn’t the man have given her some warning before just picking her up?

It was so sudden, it gave Su Yunjin quite a scare.

Gu Ya steadied himself and continued to carry his wife up the mountain.

“Yunjin, the place I’m taking you to isn’t very far. You’re tired, so I’ll carry you up the mountain.” In fact, it would be more convenient and comfortable to carry her on his back.

But with his wife pregnant and her stomach as big as a watermelon, it wasn’t practical. Moreover, Gu Ya was afraid of pressing against her belly, so he dared not carry her on his back.
