Carrying two jars down as well wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Aunt Song, with a smile, came out of the kitchen where she was cooking braised beef, and when she saw Gu Ya and Su Yunjin had brought wine, she invited them to stay for a meal.

“Young Third, Young Third daughter-in-law, since you both are here, why not have a meal at your aunt’s today?” Aunt Song planned to cook a few more dishes.

To provide something for Uncle Yu to accompany his wine and because it would be inappropriate not to make a couple more dishes with Gu Ya and Su Yunjin there. Su Yunjin smiled and declined Aunt Song’s kind offer.

Gu Ya said, “Uncle, Aunt, we still have three jars of wine that we’ve not yet given out. Right now, Yunjin and I are planning to visit her elder sister and brother-in-law’s house.”

“Aunt, we’ll come over and join you for a meal some other time when we have the chance,” Su Yunjin assured. Aunt Song and Uncle Yu were nice people; their families were next-door neighbors, sometimes sharing meals together.

Good neighborly relations and frequent visits were nice. Sharing a few extra meals with each other was good. Aunt Song was a reasonable person. Upon hearing that Su Yunjin and Gu Ya were going to visit Su Ningxiu and Wang Meng’s home,
