Chapter 1977: Screw Your “Honesty”

However, before Xi Yue could gather any spiritual power in her slender wrist, Ji Mingyu had already seized it.

Ji Mingyu turned sideways, pulled her into his arms, pressed her head on his chest, and said in a raspy voice, “Time to sleep.”

Xi Yue snapped, “Let me go!”

She struggled, but Ji Mingyu easily overpowered her.

Ji Mingyu rested his hand on her waist and gently kissed her forehead. His expression was gentle when he threatened her, “Move again, and you’ll bear the consequences.”

Xi Yue’s body stiffened as she felt the heat radiating from him, along with the tension in the air. She didn’t dare to move and instead instinctively nestled into his embrace.

Xi Yue thought she wouldn’t be able to sleep that night, but perhaps the familiar scent and embrace made her lower her guard.

Before long, she drifted into a deep sleep, her body unconsciously nuzzling into his embrace. A sense of trust and intimacy softened her sleeping face.

Ji Mingyu opened his eyes and gazed softly at Xi Yue’s sleeping face for a moment before closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

So he didn’t notice that after holding the girl in his arms and falling asleep, much of the cold energy that had once entwined every inch of his body had dissipated.

On his flawless chest, a faint plum blossom-shaped mark flickered into existence–so light it was barely noticeable. But as the cold energy coiled around his body once more, the mark faded away.

The next morning, when Xi Yue woke up, she found that the shameless man had vanished once again, leaving no trace of his presence in the room. If not for the lingering soreness on her lips, she might have thought everything from last night was just a dream.

That jerk Ji Mingyu! Does he think he can come and go as he pleases?

He just comes and goes whenever he wants. If he dares to show up again, I’ll definitely…

Xi Yue was immediately discouraged, but the Little Red Bird in the void was still chirping away and fanning the flames. “Just give in already! You slept so soundly in his arms, but when you’re alone, it’s nothing but nightmares. Your body is way more honest than your heart!”

What “honesty”! Xi Yue was so pissed she nearly swore out loud, itching to jump into her void and pluck every last feather off that annoying bird.

She was livid that she kept gnashing her teeth as she walked out of the room.

A youthful voice suddenly rang in her ears. “What’s wrong, Xi Yue?”

Xi Yue came back to her senses. She cleared her throat before saying, “It’s nothing, Weizhi. Can you stop showing up out of nowhere? You nearly scared me to death.”

The young man turned his head to look at her. His unmasked face was ethereal and otherworldly, like an elf emerging from the morning mist in the woods. He looked so breathtaking it felt almost unreal.

His cool, striking eyes held a trace of warmth, “Alright. If Xi Yue doesn’t want me to do something, I won’t do it.”

Xi Yue smiled and headed toward Class Three of the Water Medicine Department. As she walked, she said to Weizhi, “Stop following me. I left some herbs for you in the room–they’re for a medicinal bath.”

“Your cultivation is too high, so the pills I refine won’t do much for you. But your body runs hot. While it gives you immense power, over time, it will leave your meridians and dantian feeling like they’re burning.”

“This medicinal bath won’t completely eliminate the heat, but it will ease your pain and benefit your cultivation.”
