She had only been driving for a while when she suddenly noticed a familiar figure from the corner of her eye. Feeling uneasy, Fu Qing slowed the car down to get a better look.

After Zhan Qi and his two subordinates had walked past, Fu Qing contemplated for a moment before eventually deciding to return back. There was nothing else she could do.

After all, hardly any outsiders visited this village. If she were to continue snooping around, Zhan Qi would surely find her.

Fu Qing returned to her parking spot and went to Master Yun Jin’s house. There, she learned advanced embroidery techniques, before she eventually decided to return to the villa after the sunset.

However, Zhan Qi was not back yet.

Fu Qing had been expecting her husband to greet her with a smile. However, she was greeted with the cold silence of the house. Momentarily stunned, she could only stand there in a daze and wondered what could have happened to him.

Could he have been discovered by the Zhan family? Was he indanger?

She became increasingly worried as she started to overthink. Suddenly, her cell phone rang. She quickly grasped it and saw Zhan Qi’s name flashing on the display screen. She heaved a sigh of relief.

She quickly answered the call, and pressed the phone close to her ear. Zhan Qi’s comforting, yet faint voice came from the other end.

“I’m busy outside, so I won’t be going back tonight. Go to sleep first, okay?”

He sounded extremely apologetic, but that was the least of Fu Qing’s concerns.

All that mattered was that he was fine!
