Chapter 57: Scratch her Face

“Young Master, I met Yan Yiren by chance today. It seems like she is very different now.”

When Yan Yiren had been at the Chu manor, she had certainly been gutsy. Not only was she willing to talk back and glare at others, but she even had a bad temper.

Chu Huaijin’s slender fingers paused as he furrowed his eyebrows slightly. “Who?”

“Yan Yiren, that little maid, Yan Yiren…” Chen Ce glanced at Phoebe and immediately said, “The woman who stepped on Phoebe!”

“Oh.” Chu Huaijin raised the pitch of his voice, showing he understood whom Chen Ce was referring to.

Chen Ce was a little puzzled. “Young Master, aren’t you curious about what happened?”

Chu Huaijin shot him a cold look, his lips curving into a slight smile. His eyes glinted deviously. “Chen Ce, is the workload that I’ve assigned to you too low?”

“No, definitely not!”

“Then what are you in a daze for?”

Chu Huaijin idly stroked Phoebe’s chin. The soft and delicate mewls she made were incredibly cute.

Having successfully pleased her owner, Phoebe received a treat from Chu Huaijin.

Chen Ce had just wanted to gossip a little but had ended up getting snubbed. Dejected, he turned around ready to leave.

Just as Chen Ce grabbed the door handle, his master’s cold voice sounded.

“I’m not interested in other people’s girlfriends.”

“Alright.” Chen Ce understood. He left the room, crestfallen.

Chu Huaijin closed his eyes, his thick eyelashes casting a slight shadow over his face. After a prolonged period of silence, he asked, “Phoebe, do you still remember that evil woman that stepped on you?”

Phoebe rubbed her head against his chin. “Meow.”

She clearly remembered!

Phoebe had always been spoiled. She was a pet that was doted on. No one had even dared to step on her tail before, let alone her paw!

Chu Huaijin’s slender index finger stroked Phoebe’s chin. “The next time we see her, you can use your claws to scratch her face, Phoebe.”

“Meow…”

“Forget that. Her chest is not bad. It’s soft and pillowy. You can play on top of it, Phoebe.”

Phoebe rubbed her pink nose against his finger. “Meow…”

“He.” Chu Huaijin gave a low chuckle as he caressed her head. “Good girl.”

Phoebe was comfortable with her owner’s attention and shut her azure eyes that seemed to have eyeliner on them. She prepared to take a short nap.

Chu Huaijin’s hand continued to brush through her fur but then paused, before he proceeded to pinch her small chin. A perplexed expression crept across his handsome face. “Why would I want to see her again? Other people’s girlfriends… are the most troublesome.”

At such a pinch, the docile Phoebe’s fur bristled immediately. “Meow!”

“Alright, go to sleep, sleep.”

Phoebe glared at him for a while. She only snuggled onto his chest after confirming that he wouldn’t interrupt her again. Then, she closed her eyes as she drifted off to sleep.

After hanging around the smoking area, the two made their way to the restroom.

One look at the toilet cubicle told everyone in the restroom what was happening in there.

They couldn’t help but envy the man inside that cubicle.

This time, Ji Hanjiang finished quickly. He had to take the fact that Yan Yiren was still waiting for him into account and knew it wasn’t the time to overindulge himself.

Ling Yunhuan smiled as she gazed at him, a soft expression on her face.

Ji Hanjiang’s expression turned a little cold. “I have to get going.”
