Chapter 35: Your Salary For This Month Is Deducted!

Du Hang had been testing the sound effects before Gu Tinwei had even stepped through the doors.

The music was deafening. Gu Tingwei knitted his brows harshly and sucked in a breath of cold air.

As Du Hang showed off the laboratory, which had been transformed beyond recognition, he explained to Gu Tingwei at the top of his lungs, “Young Master, I specially prepared this mermaid-themed party for you after noting your recent interest in mermaids. How is it? Are you happy? Excited? Let me tell you, life is short. We shouldn’t restrict ourselves to a limited world view. Even though you are a boy, there’s nothing wrong with liking mermaids!”

Suddenly, Du Hang brought out a gift box from behind his back and handed it to Gu Tingwei with a wide grin on his face. “Here you go! Let your inner self loose tonight! Let’s have a good time without holding back—Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”

Gu Tingwei was itching to kick Du Hang straight down from the 26th floor. Instead, however, he reached out and opened the lid of the gift box.

He was greeted by the sight of a miniature version of the mermaid cosplay outfit. It even had a matching wig and a pair of tiny leather shoes…

Gu Tingwei: “…”

Du Hang said, “Young Master, rest easy. If you don’t like this pink set, I also prepared a blue set for you! These are all high-demand items from the store. They sell out so quickly that you can’t even buy them. I found a scalper and bought them for three times the price!”

After he said this, Du Hang whispered, “Can I claim reimbursement for this costume?”

Gu Tingwei closed his eyes for a while before opening them once more. “I’m cutting your salary for this month!”

He had originally planned to request a raise and a bonus, so why was Gu Tingwei cutting his salary?

Du Hang started to fret. “You don’t like these two colors? I remember that there’s still a purple set! You’ll definitely like the purple one!”

As he said this, he whipped out his phone and was about to make a phone call to the scalper when he heard Gu Tinwei say, “Du Hang, was this the birthday party you prepared for me?”

Du Hang replied, “That’s right! Young Master, I’ve been planning this party for a grand total of one year! After racking my brains and pouring out my brain juices, I had a sudden burst of inspiration, and this was the result.”

Gu Tingwei uttered, “Sudden burst of inspiration?”

When Du Hang heard this, he knew that he had made a slip. He hastily tried to correct himself. “No no! I definitely prepared this meticulously, and over a long time, according to your likes and dislikes!”

Gu Tingwei said, “Just for today?”

Du Hang nodded his head affirmatively. “Just for today! Young Master… Even if the results aren’t that great, I still toiled tirelessly. Even if you don’t like the color of the dress, you shouldn’t cut my salary, ah…”

Gu Tingwei replied, “My birthday is on the 10th of next month.”

The chatty Du Hang suddenly froze.

Gu Tingwei started to take down the balloons.

Gu Tingwei started to remove the decorations on the ultrasound machine.

Just as Gu Tingwei was about to turn off the music, his hand paused in mid-air. “Then bring a real mermaid over on my birthday!”

Du Hang: “…”

He reached out and wiped the thick layer of makeup off his face. In doing so, he accidentally transferred his fake lashes onto the area beneath one of his eyes, making it look as though there were three eyes on his face…

However, he came to a sudden realization. With a look of despair, as though it were the end of the world, he asked, “Young Master, are you being serious?”
