Chapter 258: Chapter 258 I Don’t Feel Anything at All
“I have no idea who you are, you’ve got the wrong person!” Chen Ke’s left hand pulled away from Bader’s sleeve blade, and then he punched Bader in the jaw.
Chen Ke distinctly heard the sound of the jaw dislocating. He then delivered a fierce knee strike to Bader’s abdomen, causing him to spit out a mouthful of saliva and bend over.
Taking advantage of the situation, Bader charged into Chen Ke’s arms, wrapping his right arm around Chen Ke’s waist and easily lifting him off the ground.
Chen Ke retracted his hammer, brought his left hand across Bader’s back, and grabbed his right thigh, trying to use his weight to unbalance Bader, but Bader was too strong. He felt like he was trying to shake a massive rock.
Bader straightened his arms and lifted Chen Ke high, then violently hurled him against the wall.
As he was thrown out, Chen Ke quickly grabbed Bader’s blue tie and rolled to the ground. Yanking the tie, Bader’s tongue slightly protruded as he bent over.
Chen Ke viciously kicked Bader’s jaw with his left foot, wrapped the tie around several times with both hands, and, biting down, his biceps bulged as he attempted to strangle Bader with the tie.
“Errr… Hahahaha!” Bader sinisterly chuckled, kneeling on top of Chen Ke, his right wrist extending a sleeve blade and stabbing wildly into Chen Ke’s abdomen.
The sharp sleeve blade sliced through Chen Ke’s abdominal muscles, crushing his organs as if they were tofu.
“Ugh…” The intense pain of muscles tearing and organs being sliced spread throughout his body, so intense that Chen Ke’s fingers went numb.
He coughed up blood, his white shirt turning a dark, bloodstained red. He snapped his fingers at Bader, and an hour’s worth of spiritual energy burst forth, creating a powerful push against Bader’s chest and smashing him from inside the boutique through the wall into the hall.
Bader rose from the ground, covered in cement dust. He used his sleeve blade to cut off his tie and threw it to the ground. Stepping over the debris, he walked toward Chen Ke, who knelt on the ground.
In less than a second, Chen Ke’s blood-soaked torn abdomen and smashed organs had completely regenerated, including the wound on his left arm from the sleeve blade.
Bader looked at Chen Ke in surprise, his face revealing a detailed expression.
“No wonder… no wonder… This is where your value lies! Haha…” Bader laughed, his facial features distorting with his eerie smile.
Chen Ke stood up. The brief encounter made him realize there was something different about Bader, though he still didn’t know who Bader was. But he was sure he had been targeted by some mysterious organization.
Thinking it over, it could only be Yasla. However, Bader was clearly much stronger than those deformities, particularly in evading detection through Spiritual Vision and murderous intent which was very impressive.
Chen Ke couldn’t absorb any murderous intent from Bader, meaning he couldn’t continuously use spiritual energy to fight him. A Crystal Gun might kill him instantly, but Chen Ke wasn’t sure about Bader’s dodging abilities.
The situation felt very much like Ultraman fighting a monster.
The fight only lasted five minutes, turning associations of light into one minute. Everyone knows the light can instantly kill the monster, but what if it missed? Ultraman himself would feel uncertain.
“Let’s give it a shot.”
Chen Ke thought, preparing to distract Bader by speaking.
“What’s your story? I have no beef with you,” said Chen Ke.
“It’s none of your business,” Bader laughed, and as his last word dropped, his right hand also developed the same fissures Face had before, and the next second, the palm exploded into a black scaly tentacle, like a living whip.
That confirmed Chen Ke’s suspicion that Bader was sent by Yasla… No wonder he didn’t use the Holy Relics!
The whip, seemingly with its mind, didn’t need Bader to swing it; it shot toward Chen Ke like a python. Chen Ke swiftly dove to the side; immediately, a deep trench was carved into the wall behind him.
Lester and his bodyguards must have been killed by this move.
Chen Ke pulled out his Glock and shot at Bader, buying himself some time. Bader’s living whip suddenly split into four in mid-air, slashing off Chen Ke’s gun-holding hand, and the other three pierced his thigh and chest, lifting him into the air.
“I thought you’d be a little more special! But I think you’re just tougher than the others,” Bader taunted, looking at Chen Ke suspended in midair.
Chen Ke made a sword-holding gesture with his hands, summoning Faralis’s Unyielding Fury. A two-meter long broadsword appeared out of nowhere, and without hesitation, it chopped off six of Bader’s living whips.
Bader flung Chen Ke into the hall and retracted his whips, his fingertips dripping blood.
Once Chen Ke hit the ground, he immediately felt a change; he couldn’t even lift the huge sword with both hands before, but now he could wield it with ease.
Could it be because his life limit had increased, hence “power shortage” didn’t refer to muscular strength but to spiritual energy level?
He tried holding Faralis’s Unyielding Fury with one hand, and it again became extremely heavy…
Outside the clothing store, the loud noises from the fight between two people made passersby curious enough to stop and look; some thought there was renovation going on inside and walked away after a glance, while others stood at the door, continuously peeping inside.
Chen Ke had no time to concern himself with their safety–it was a matter of fate.
“Spiritual Ability User… I used to be one too, but that’s not the correct way to use Spiritual Energy,” Bader said, stepping out from the back room as he addressed Chen Ke.
“It’s better than turning into a monster like you,” Chen Ke retorted.
“You have a very narrow definition of people. Injecting Spiritual Energy fluid into the spinal cord–that’s what I call a monster! As for me… I’ve achieved a perfect fusion with Spiritual Energy, no more drainage, no more… wait… why am I even telling you this… you’re dead anyway! Hahahaha!” Bader laughed as his hands split again, transforming into eight flailing black whips.
This guy… was he from the Administration Bureau before? Chen Ke was taken aback, seeing the eight black twisted whips about to tear him apart.
“So many…” Chen Ke slung his sword over his shoulders and summoned a large shield with his left hand.
There was no time to waste, he needed a quick resolution. Thinking this, Chen Ke charged at Bader with his shield, Bader’s whips trying to wrap around Chen Ke’s shield, but he got pinned to the wall by the shield first.
Bader’s hands reverted, trying to push the shield away, but in an instant, the shield vanished in front of him, and Chen Ke thrust his sword through, piercing his heart and pinning him to the wall.
Chen Ke noticed that Bader’s fingers were now deformed and noticeably shorter–it seemed he still obeyed the law of conservation of mass; the slashed whips were actually parts of his fingers.
That alone was not enough; he withdrew his broadsword, and with his right hand, he summoned a Sun Spear Hammer, relentlessly pounding Bader’s head, producing sounds of bones cracking repeatedly.
The contents of Bader’s head burst from his orifices, not brain and blood, but some kind of viscous, black paste never seen before.
Chen Ke struck an unknown number of times until his right fist, infused with 2 hours of released Spiritual Energy, smashed into Bader’s chest, creating a concave dent.
“Pua!”
Dark pus shot out from the cracked brain of the unrecognizable Bader; one punch and one hammer sealed the deal, embedding his body into the wall.
Seeing Bader finally motionless, Chen Ke let out a breath. The fight, including the energy spent on recovery, cost him six hours of his lifespan, and he would need to perform Soul Pinching to replenish.
Chen Ke heard police sirens outside the store; someone had obviously called the police. He sighed as he looked at his torn clothes, turned around, and eyed a suit hanging on a nearby rack, planning to change into it.
Suddenly, he felt a chill in his body–Chen Ke looked down and saw a hand protruding from his chest.
He swallowed a mouthful of blood; Bader had shockingly pierced his body from behind, empty-handed.
“Ugh…” Chen Ke vomited blood, grabbing Bader’s arm.
“How strange… you don’t have a heart… very strange…” Bader chuckled.
His voice, distorted by the damage to his head, sounded eerie, as if some deformed being was struggling to speak clearly with a paralyzed tongue.
Chen Ke grabbed Bader’s right arm with both hands, clenched his eyes shut, and slid down from his arm, blood and flesh mixed with black-red blood splattering on the ground, creating a fist-sized hole through his chest and back.
Chen Ke knelt on the ground, enduring an unprecedented pain. He heard the County Police getting out of their cars outside.
“How wonderful… It’s our first meeting, and you’ve turned everything into this…” Bader said.
“You’ve exceeded my expectations, though I still don’t know your name, I’ll remember you… Ah… you are even more bizarre than me…” Bader gasped for air, his mutilated head still rambling on.
Right then, Chen Ke instantly summoned a Crystal Gun, the blue crystalline spear forming swiftly in his palm.
“Before you make a move, what I need to tell you… is… I… don’t… feel… anything…” Bader said with a laugh.
Chen Ke, holding the Crystal Gun, drove it directly into Bader’s head. Even the toughest skull couldn’t withstand a shot from the Crystal Gun, which went from the forehead straight through to the back of the skull.
Bader was silenced forever. In front of Chen Ke, he instantly turned into dark gray light spots, as if sucked into another dimension.
“What… the fuck…” Chen Ke stared at the wall smeared with black pus, astonished.
“Sir… what are you doing?! Hands up! Quick!” Two County Police officers entering the store, spotting Chen Ke’s silhouette, nervously raised their guns.
“Raffi Road Zio Clothing Store suffered a Spiritual Energy related murder; the murderer is inside the store, requesting backup!” Another County Police officer pressed the communication button, his voice trembling.
Chen Ke didn’t turn back. Instead, a Teleportation Gate suddenly appeared in front of him.
The two County Police watched as he stepped into the Teleportation Gate, which then vanished without a trace.
