In the original story, Zhou Hengguang truly was a disabled man in a wheelchair, and a paranoid maniac at that. Su Wen had always remembered this, and knowing that Zhou Hengguang was to go on a business trip, in charge of a tunnel project, she, out of concern, reminded him to take extra people with him.

She warned him daily to be safe, and ultimately prevented a terrible accident.

Zhou Hengguang was only lightly injured, but Su Wen, struck by inspiration, came up with this idea.

She feared that without intervention, Su Qing would indeed miss out on her true love.
