Meng Huan thought Zhu Dong had come back again. Looking up, he saw a luxurious robe, and snow-white boots, which should only walk on the white-marble steps. At this time, the edges of the shoes were stained with some sludge, and the scarlet dress of the prince’s clothes brushed against the wood door, bright as fire, incompatible with the simplicity and poverty of the courtyard.

Meng Huan was stunned for a moment.

He put down his knife and walked out. Lin Bozhou waved away the eunuch and said, “Go back and come back in the early morning. Don’t let anyone know this prince is in Chen An’s courtyard. Just say that this prince is drunk and went back to sleep in his bed chamber.”

“Yes, Your Highness.” The eunuch hurriedly went away.

Lin Bozhou bolted the wooden door shut, turned his head, and met eyes with Meng Huan, who was full of surprise.

There were only two people left in the courtyard.

Meng Huan also subconsciously said, “Greetings-”

“No need to pay respects.” Lin Bozhou bowed his head and straightened his sleeves as he walked over. “There’s no one else, just the two of us, husband and wife.”

“……” Meng Huan always felt that he was connoting something like he was angry at himself for running away after shading the prince a bit that night.

Meng Huan unconsciously laughed, shyly leaning into his arms. The tip of his nose fluttered, smelling the strong smell of wine. “Did Husband drink?”

“The war at the border is getting more urgent, and I was upset,” said Lin Bozhou. “Thinking of the soldiers willing to risk their lives in war, I was a little proud, so I drank a few more glasses.”

Meng Huan nodded. “Oh.”

Lin Bozhou stretched out his hand, his strong palm pinching his slender waist. Almost without saying a word, he leaned his head down, and his wine-spicy kiss fell. “Staying alone in the courtyard? Not lonely?”

Let him kiss his face, ears, and lips.

Meng Huan’s eyes brightened. “Then didn’t you come to see me?”

Lin Bozhou’s eyes didn’t contain smiles, and he pulled his lips down. “What if I don’t come?”

He seemed to think that Meng Huan had already suffered for the few days he had let him stay here.

Meng Huan didn’t think so. “Then I’ll eat by myself.”

Lin Bozhou pinched his face, and his misty eyes were full of pain. He was a little drunk, his body was tainted with the bitter coldness of wine, and his gaze turned sullenly. “Has Huanhuan eaten?”

Meng Huan: “No, but it’s cooking right away.”

“Is that so?” Lin Bozhou scanned the poor and clean courtyard, and his voice paused momentarily.

Then, he reached to gather the wide sleeves of the prince’s robe and uncovered the small pot on the stove, where the yam porridge was boiling and bubbling with smoke.

Turning his head sideways again, he saw the plate of cleaned mutton and spices.

“Starving?” He asked softly.

Meng Huan: “A little bit hungry.”

Lin Bozhou interrupted him, his tone firm. “Then Huanhuan can go sit and eat some fruit. This husband will make you a good meal right away.”

“…… ?”

Meng Huan looked at his body with the luxurious royal robe, his slender fingers handling government affairs, wielding a brush beautifully, and not doing housework, and his upright and elegant bearing. Obviously, he was a blue-blooded nobility, always accustomed to being served by others, but what was he saying now?

Meng Huan was surprised. “You also know how to cook?”

Lin Bozhou’s voice was soft. “In the past, when I went hunting in the mountains and forests in Kuzhou, I asked my subordinates to set up pots and grills, cook some lamb soup with radishes and roast lamb. Therefore, I can cook some meals.”

But in that situation, it was a young man’s vigorous spirit and not a daily life’s necessities in the kitchen, right?

Meng Huan thought in his heart but did not know how to stop him. Then he saw Lin Bozhou’s jade mountain-like noble and elegant figure enter the shed. After scanning around with his eyes, not a trace of chaos, he found the firewood, rice, oil and salt and then put things into the pot.

The aroma of fried meat slowly drifted out, smoke filled the air, and the upright and straight figure was faintly discernible.

“……”

Meng Huan sat at the stone table and washed a basket of plums.

One by one, he stuffed the sweet-sour raw and crisp fruit into his mouth, his fingers dripping with juice.

The fragrance of fried meat was getting stronger. And Lin Bozhou, wearing the scarlet prince robe, stood before the illuminated counter with pitch-black eyes looking down. Without the complicated status and high-class position, he was just an ordinary husband concentrating on making a bowl of hot meals for his wife.

Meng Huan propped up his jaw with a quiet look on his face.

All along, Meng Huan had been a very insecure bottom. His biggest fantasy of love was only to have a man who was sincere to him. He didn’t care how handsome or big they were, but he should be treated as a small child. It was enough to take good care of him and give him a warm family.

Meng Huan grew up without a family, so the desire for a family was powerful.

Initially, Meng Huan did not like the type like Lin Bozhou. The status gap was too big, so he would never yield and give Meng Huan the ideal tolerance and love.

However……

Meng Huan picked up a plum and stuffed it into his mouth again.

The taste seemed sour but sweet when eaten.

He found that his previous perceptions were not entirely correct.

Not a few moments later.

Lin Bozhou carried a plate of stir-fried mutton, a plate of roast lamb, and a bowl of spinach soup. His posture under the tedious royal clothes was upright as he walked up to Meng Huan and put the things away individually.

His slender, well-defined fingers poked out of the darkly patterned sleeves, bent over, and placed a bowl of white rice.

Putting it on the table, his voice was drunk, calm and provocative.

“Okay, Huanhuan can eat.”
