Chapter 1031: Chapter 373: Aleister’s Lies and Arrangements

After Aleister left, Christina excitedly discussed with the other students about Aleister’s greatness and how powerful she was to have defeated the First Red Prime Minister.

Her eyes seemed to sparkle with starlight, and her words were almost fanatical.

Just like a devout believer.

On the other hand, hearing that Aleister wanted to eat something, the nervous Adolf thought of taking Aleister to Leipzig for some good food. The Old Lich was focused on wrapping up the experimental ritual.

Although the lord of Leipzig was frozen in a natural icebox at the top of the Spirit Summoning Tower, it didn’t interfere with their fun time in Leipzig.

To give credit where it’s due, as a tourist city, Leipzig holds a pretty high standard.

After all, not all students at the Undead Academy are undead.

Aleister still remembered, during the initiation ceremony… when Aiwass and Beyard snuck out from Crescent Moon Manor to eat, they encountered many Spirit Summoning Tower students who had just finished their evening classes.

At that time, it was probably around nine to eleven at night, many young Necromancer apprentices in dead-leaf robes were hungrily searching for food. Clearly, the academic pressure was considerable.

Back then, the Spirit Summoning Tower was still in the city center, at least the snack street at the school entrance still existed.

And now, the Spirit Summoning Tower is situated in the suburbs, even in the mountains. It takes Aleister riding Leviathan over half an hour from the center of Leipzig. The nearest residence nearby is a little fishing village that also serves as a port.

To not even mention whether there’s anything good to eat or enjoy there, just the trip from the mountains… if you were to walk, it would take at least two to three hours for a round trip.

By fostering a lifestyle of seclusion, which feels like entering a monastery, students’ affinity with the Path of Dusk can be nurtured.

Sometime when students’ mood becomes calm every day, not feeling restless, nor seeking adventures or fun, completely unaware of the passage of time, devoid of worldly desires, even to the point of wanting to muddle through life… with that level of attunement to Dusk, they are just about ready to advance to the Third Level.

But Aleister turned down Adolf’s kind offer–although those on the Path of Love are gourmands, voracious and picky eaters. But actually, she just wanted to find an excuse to bond with the students.

It’s like a leader inspecting the school.

Surprisingly, the cafeteria food was actually quite good.

Various smoked sausages, at least seven or eight kinds, fried pork chops, beef rolls, crispy-skinned sauerkraut pork knuckles, roasted meat, fried meat patties, and sweet pies, each placed in a Ritual Array to maintain constant temperature. There was also beef braised in vinegar, beef meatballs, red braised lamb stewing continuously in a pot…

–Meat, meat, meat, meat, meat, looking around the cafeteria it’s all meat except for some bread!

This is much better than what Avalonians eat!!

Aleister was almost moved to tears.

If only there was a bowl of rice…

Even for a moment, she thought about inviting Aiwass to come and eat for a few days.

These days she had been staying at Prince Xiyaldo’s manor, the taste of the dishes there was decent. But it was closer to the style of Iris Flower, delicate and beautiful, similar to the meals Aiwass had at the Hall of Silver and Tin–about twelve or thirteen courses for dinner, more than ten of which were Iris Flower cuisine.

Even the Star Antimony food at the Avalon restaurant didn’t quite hit the spot for Aleister. The flavors were quite bland, and the portions not particularly generous.

“All this meat is fresh…”

Seeing Aleister’s look, Adolf quickly explained, “It’s really pork, beef, lamb…”

He was somewhat concerned that Aleister would think the meat came from “teaching assistants.”

“…looks rather good,” Aleister praised, “I really like it.

“But… what about the students’ nutritional balance? And why is there so much meat here, yet the kids still look so thin?”

Aleister chose her dishes and found a table to sit down. Quite a few students who followed her also casually took a little bit of food, their consumption so slight that Aleister even suspected they were on a diet.

Aleister didn’t see many overweight students on her way here.

On the contrary, there were quite a few students who looked skeletal, seemingly having developed anorexia.

But as soon as she asked this, she felt like she indeed came as an inspecting official.

However, on reflection, there isn’t really a big problem–since Aleister actually intended to move the Spirit Summoning Tower to Avalon. Once the Spirit Summoning Tower is settled, Aiwass really could be considered their direct supervisor.

“Ah, regarding this…”

Adolf gave a somewhat helpless smile and explained softly, sitting across from Aleister.

As a specialty academy for Necromancers, even though it’s also one of the four major powers of Star Antimony, there aren’t any Transcendents from the Path of Love here.

The Transcendents of the Path of Dusk, they value a life of no desires and are extraordinarily lazy.

Although there’s a free cafeteria here, unless necessary, students generally are too lazy to come eat. By simply drinking “Number One” and “Number Two,” they’re basically full, and the life-preserving function of “Number Two” prevents health deterioration from prolonged meal skipping, at least they wouldn’t easily starve to death.
