Chapter 41: Overbearing Man

As soon as Yan Xiruo finished speaking, she realized that the temperature of the surrounding air had dropped a few degrees. Looking at the man whose face turned cold and eyes turned sinister, she felt a little terrified.

Every time he kept a straight face and didn’t say a word, it made her feel suffocated.

“Thanks for your concern. I think it’s better for me to just stay here for a night.” Without waiting for him to say anything, she turned around and walked toward the deck again.

Yan Xiruo noticed that several passersby who walked past them had cast them ambiguous looks.

“Second Brother!” When Ye Juemo was about to reach his room, Ling Zhihan’s evilly charming voice traveled over.

Yan Xiruo saw a few handsome men walking over. She quickly lowered her head and let her long hair cover her small face. Her hands no longer hit Ye Juemo continuously. Instead, she now grabbed his clothes tightly.

“That’s fine. Looking at what the woman’s wearing, I think she’s not like the models or celebrities downstairs who are dressed scantily.” Mu Yuchen placed his hands in his trousers’ pockets and walked forward. When he saw that Ling Zhihan was still pacing about in front of Ye Juemo’s door, a spring-like smile curved up on his handsome face. “It looks like Second Brother’s serious this time around.”

Ling Zhihan nodded in agreement. “Yes. It has been more than a decade since he was serious about a woman. Back then, he and Nianwei were childhood sweethearts. They were such a compatible couple! Both of them even got engaged and were to get married once they reached the legal age. Who knew that Nianwei would go missing in a riot?”

Thinking of that riot which resulted in a bloodbath, Mu Yuchen gave a long sigh. “The terrorists were too cruel back then. In the end, the government didn’t even release the numbers of how many people were killed in that riot. It has been so many years. If Nianwei were still alive, why didn’t she return to find her family and Second Brother?”

Ling Zhihan’s father had died in that riot as well. When he thought of that situation back then, he, who always carried a cynical attitude toward life, couldn’t help for his eyes to turn red. “Actually, Second Brother knows it clearly in his heart as well. Nianwei isn’t missing. She’s really separated from us as she’s no longer alive.”

Mu Yuchen patted Ling Zhihan’s shoulder. “Let’s not talk about the sad past. Let’s take a look downstairs.”
