People began to talk amongst themselves. 

Those who stayed had no choice. They had no special abilities. If they went out, they would not be able to protect themselves from the zombies.

That was why they decided to remain in the safety base even though no food was not provided.

Fang Lin suddenly said to Li Ran, “Lin Nan is back.”

Li Ran looked at the crowd.

“Let them make their own decisions. Besides, it’s better for those dangerous people to leave.”

She was not a benevolent person. 

Not only do these people not appreciate everything that the safety base had provided them, but they even blamed the management when something went wrong!

Fang Lin concurred.

“I think so too. Leave this to me. I’ll talk to those people in charge. They are actually blaming themselves. The sight makes my head hurt!”

Li Ran nodded and left to look for Lin Nan.

On the way, she briefly entered the mysterious space to see if she could make some food. Even though a lot of people had left, there were still at least two thousand people in the base.

There were simply too many people, but Li Ran thought she ought to at least try.

She decided to only lend a hand to those who were understanding and cooperative. Otherwise, her efforts would be wasted.

There was no reason for her to make things hard for herself. 

Besides, she was not a goddess whose task was to salvage this world.

When Li Ran finally found Lin Nan, she hugged him and said, “Hubby, I’ve missed you so much!”

Lin Nan hugged Li Ran back tightly. He asked, “Are you alright? What happened? Why are there so many people leaving?”

Li Ran explained everything that had happened to her husband. 

After understanding the situation, Lin Nan frowned. He sighed softly. 

“The current situation is indeed very troublesome. However, it does not only apply here. Everywhere else is experiencing the same thing.”

Li Ran agreed, but she did not want to talk about this problem anymore. She looked at Lin Nan and said, “Oh right, I found this at the building where you got the experimental drug. The bottle’s lid is red though.”

Lin Nan’s eyes widened in disbelief. He took the bottle of drug and asked, “You went out? Why did you return to that place?”

Li Ran answered truthfully, “I lost something there, so I went back to get it.”

Since Li Ran was unharmed, Lin Nan did not question her any further. They continued to chat with each other. 

“Maybe there’s still a glimmer of hope. This drug will be the key.”

Before Lin Nan left, he asked Li Ran if she wanted to go with him.

However, she refused. 

Li Ran wanted to check on the previous situation instead. She went back to meet Fang Lin. There was a huge smile on his face. 

With a confused expression, Li Ran asked, “Has the matter been resolved?”

Fang Lin paused for a moment before replying, “Now that the uncooperative people had left, everyone is united. We came up with a good solution, but it might be a little risky.”

“What is it?”

Fang Lin took out a map and placed it in front of Li Ran. 

“We’re going to use water to replenish our energy first. After that, we’ll go to a neighboring province to look for supplies. Most of the people with special abilities who stayed have protective powers, so we won’t have trouble clearing the zombies.”

“Are you sure there is food in that place?”

“No, but it’s the closest place that we have yet to search. It’s our only hope. After all, only survival matters. We’re doing the best we can.”

Nonetheless, Li Ran was still worried.

“How many people are left in the safety base?”

“Actually, more people had left when you were gone because they thought the plan was too troublesome..”
