Data,171 – Old Bowman, Chaos Battlefield

“Satomi! So you were able to unite with Gochu!”

“Unison Trainers…no, Unison Masters, have the right to be able to warp to the same place as the Unison they bring with them.”

I see. So that’s how it was.

While I didn’t like to treat them as objects, for their jobs, Unisons were like weapons.

And so if the rules had to tear them apart, it would be no different than having me warp in a different place as my bow.

It would put me at too much of a disadvantage.

“Hey-hey-hey-hey Satomi! Why don’t you come down and fight? While my whip sword can extend pretty far, it’s not meant to be used for long-range combat!”

“That’s why I took to the sky, even if it meant revealing that I could fly on the very first fight!”

Satomi seemed a lot more heated when it came to fighting his brother!

Brothers at that age tended to be very competitive…

“Phew…! I finally extinguished it…! Now, sorry to interrupt your heated exchange, but that’s what I do best! I’ll knock you out of the sky!”

The girl in the raincoat, Gela, had a water gun as her weapon!

While it looked like a toy, she was not to be underestimated.

If the water was shot out at a high enough pressure, then it had the power to even cut through metal.

And since this was a game set in a fantasy world, it was more than possible that it could do more damage than a bullet!

“I won’t let you…! Windgod Sky Tear!”

The highspeed arrow shot towards her head, but then it slid off the hood of her raincoat, and did not pierce through it.

Was the surface of that raincoat…coated in something that reduced friction!?

“Woah, scary! I knew you would try and target me! Eat this, Fountain Missile!”

A backpack appeared on Gela’s back, and water bottle rockets launched one after another!

After rising high into the sky, they changed direction and began to rain down…!

“Exorcism Barrier!”

In general, the more shots you fired, the weaker the individual shots.

And so the barrier didn’t budge even a little after several rockets hit it.

I could continue my attacks towards Gela.

“I already know that fire is effective against that raincoat! Gatling Inferno…”

Craackk!!

The moment that I held up my bow, the whip sword broke through the barrier!

Garbow then moved in between us and activated Energy Shield III.

It was the advanced version of Energy Shield, which I had bought with 50 NSO coins in the past. It was a skill that allowed Garbow to create a shield of energy that followed him.

I had thought that it was similar to Sunpower Guard, but it was actually quite different.

The Sunfish Bow didn’t actually follow Garbow closely.

While it would not move too far away, it still swam around as if it had a will of its own.

And so there were times when I would try and activate the shield, only to see that it was in a completely different place.

And while it had come to me when I called it earlier, there were also times when it just ignored me…

I didn’t think that it was necessary to make its behavior so similar to an actual sunfish, but I had no choice but to just work around it.

Having great weapon skills, charge attacks and high stats was more than enough…!

“Stop spacing out! I’m the star of the show here! Me, Core!”

The whip sword extended out and began to writhe!

It was like watching an actual snake move violently around…!

There was nowhere to run in the barrier. And so I had to get out…!

“Unison Maestro…Fire Scatter!”

“Woah!? This again? Ah, it’s hot!!”

Now it wasn’t water bottles coming down from the sky, but fiery flower petals!

Was it Satomi’s new attack…!?

“Tsk! First its water and now its fire… Is this a battlefield!? Ah, it is a battlefield!”

Core retracted his whip sword in order to defend himself.

He was surprisingly the cautious type…

I thought that he would enter the barrier in order to get close to me.

It would also allow him to stop the attacks from the sky. It was two birds with one stone.

And since I had predicted it, I had been ready to activate Stardust Arrow, which was my strongest attack for close range combat, as well as Garbow’s Crimson Deathroll…

Crack, crack….crack…!

“Ah.”

The barrier was collapsing!

It had withstood the water bottle missiles and even an attack from the whip sword had only broken a part of it, but it was at its limit now…!

That’s why Core had retreated!

However, that made things easier for me now.

I just had to reactivate the skill…!

“Mr. Kyuji! Let’s take on one each! It will be easier to move like that!”

“Satomi…!”

Perhaps he was right…

While I had been fighting for a while now, I was still being sandwiched by Core and Gela. That hadn’t changed.

Though there was something comical in their attacks, they had no intention of letting me get out of the pincer attacks.

With Core in the front and Gela in the back… Instead of having to think about both and fight, it would be best to leave one of them to Satomi so that I could focus on one of them.

I hated multi-tasking!

“Let’s do that!”

“Then I’ll defeat Core!”

“…Got it!”

There was something different about Satomi today.

And while I was worried, I decided to put my faith in him.

At the very least, I would defeat Gela, so that they could continue their brotherly brawl!

“So, this is just what Core wanted after all… Oh, well! If he wants to teach his little brother a lesson so much, I won’t get in the way! Come at me, old man!”
