Data.173 – Another Perspective: VR Brother Fight

“So Gela-tin was killed… That old man really is strong. I shouldn’t have forced her to fight him. Still, I’ll end this fight in style to make up for it! So stop hiding!”

They were in a residential area within the futuristic city.

It was filled with rows of plain buildings that were about as individualistic as blocks of tofu.

And amidst it all, stood a player with his trade-mark spiky, golden hair, Core.

He swung around his whip sword loudly and shouted to the brother who was hiding somewhere.

“Do you think that if you wait long enough, your friends will come and defeat me for you!? Is this your style of ‘taking it easy’ then? What a joke!”

Core’s voice echoed against the walls of the buildings.

However, there was no other sound that could be heard.

“I know that you’re still in this area. I can even drag you out if I want to. Now, come out! Do I have to teach you how to fight, like I did a long time ago?”

“Teach…? I never asked you to teach me anything.”

Satomi’s voice echoed through the residential area.

It was very loud, and since it echoed everywhere, it was impossible to tell where it was coming from.

“Tsk, some kind of skill… What are you saying! You would never have finished those games without my help!”

“Finishing games was never my main objective. What is important to me is to be free and have fun! You wouldn’t know, because you only care about efficiency!”

“Yes, that’s right! I used to get games early so that I could beat them and then sell them on release day! I don’t like to do things slowly! You should keep moving efficiently!”

“Nevermind that. I’m not here to attack your personal playstyle. Just don’t push it onto others!”

“No! I do think that you have a point, but it’s impossible to not say something when watching others! Even livestreams that I watch to kill time cause me to go crazy! And if it’s my own brother…I’m not going to stay silent!”

“I just want to play the game and have fun! It’s not about ideals or anything! Sometimes I will think about efficiency, and sometimes I’ll waste time. Doing what you want at the moment is the ultimate way of taking it easy…and having fun!”

“I see. So that’s why you’d say strange things about Max Fun.”

“A minor pro saying that their playstyle is ‘to have fun’ will be buried in this great age of VR. But to put it more bluntly, Max Fun is a great advertisement!”

“Awesome! That’s my younger brother!”

After exchanging this many words, he had a good grasp on his location.

And so Core swung his sword whip in order to destroy the building that Satomi was hiding behind!

“Big Bellows!”

Buildings were weak.

After one hit of the enlarged sword, it crumbled like tofu.

However, Satomi was not amongst the rubble.

Instead…

“Oink?”

“What!? What is this!?”

It was a round, balloon-like pig!

The pig was snorting loudly and was not only unaffected by Core’s attack, but seemed oblivious of the situation!

“But there are no monsters in this field… Or is it an object?”

“Oink! Oink! Oinkkkkkk!!”

Suddenly, a gust of wind shot out from the pig’s snout.

The wind pressure was so strong that it could break your bones, and so Core activated a defense skill.

“Coil Bellows! Ha…haha… What the hell is this pig!? Huh…!?”

But then followup attacks were unleashed at Coil Bellows.

This time, it was a furious stream of water!

And then from a different direction, a burst of flames hit him!

After being hit from three directions at the same time, his skill reached its limit!

“Gaaaahhh!!”

Core’s defenses failed.

But Satomi continued to give out orders!

“Gochu! Buffi! Kapaparuto! Keep hitting him with charge attacks!”

Gochu was the familiar monkey that used magic.

The balloon-like pig was Buffi.

And Kapaparuto was a cool military kappa that wore sunglasses.

Satomi had summoned three Unisons at once!

“Fire Kindling Seed! Ultra Air Cannon! Guerilla Stream!”

Rapidfire of flame bullets!

Compressed air shot through cannons!

A sudden violent stream!

The three charge attacks shot towards Core!

“Huh? What a wonderful trump card… No, Miracle Effect!?”

Core’s whip sword began to shine in the colors of the rainbow…!

“So I’ll answer them with my own Miracle Effect then… Yurlungur.”

He swung the blades in a circle.

And after hitting each charge attack, they were annihilated…!

“What…!?”

“This is my Miracle Effect, Yurlungur! Normally, you’re not supposed to tell what the effect is, but I don’t care! Because it’s not like you’ll be able to do anything about it!”

Now that Satomi had appeared, Core’s blade shot towards him!

“Buffi! Unbreakable Balloon!”

Buffi moved between them and then its body inflated like a balloon. The rainbow blade bounced right off.

And then Buffi staggered and fell to the ground.

“That much HP even when using a defense charge attack…!?”

“Of course! Because I know your weakness! Same with the charge attacks! It’s easy to kill them if you know their weaknesses! When attacking, Yurlungur automatically switches to the most effective attribute. It’s an amazing Miracle Effect!”

“So that’s how you were able to cancel out three at once…”

“Exactly! If you thought that by using three Unisons at once, you could unleash an attack that I would be unable to deal with, you underestimated me! You’re too green! My sword can cut through anything!”

“Isn’t it too early to declare that? I haven’t shown all my hands yet either…!”

“Oh, I look forward to seeing them. Neither of us use one shot highpower Miracle Effects, but special continuous ones. So it’s just a matter of which runs out first… Let’s put it to the test then!”

“Gladly!”
